Kure Beach 2011 Part A

Mel & Mike drove in with the kids from Missouri and Dad & Sherry flew in from Florida. We all traveled to the ocean--Kure Beach. We arrived on saturday and as soon as we could get the suitcases in the house and change clothes we headed out to the beach to check out the ocean.

The boys headed out hand in hand to face the waves.

Jumpin the wave

I thought I'd just get in a bit with Noli to reassure her...not the best laid plan as my shorts got nice and salty, but such is the beach.

Grandpa made the ocean so much fun for Noli (and all the grandkids).

Noli did not like having the ocean splash in her mouth

Hot Justin and his tramp stamp :)

He had to wear short shirts to make sure everyone saw it

We visited the docked battle ship the USS North Carolina. There were tons of interesting facts, none of which I can recall at this point. The boys were most interested in the guns and Grandpa showed them all how they would have worked.

We worked up a big appetite crawling around that ship so we stopped off at a diner. This was the single serving pancake stack Lukas ordered. There were "oooh" and "ahhhh"s all around.

This was after--he carbo loaded for his nap

Kure Beach 2011 Part II

The making of the birthday cake for Noli...I think it was a six hour process

Kiddos helping with process

The cake baked after the kids went to bed. As soon as they got up the next day they went to the stove to check out what happened.

Oh check my new shoes I got for my birthday

Hmm does this boa and these rings go with these shoes?

oh yeah they do

I scream for ice cream!

Lukas fell in love with a girl in the ice cream shop window. It got a little too stare-crazy so Mel told him to move away from window. Lukas said "I can't, Mom; She is so beautiful"

Cute Noli & Mel pictures

Cute kiddo group shot

Marlon FINALLY gets to the beach after feeling a bit off most of the week...verdict? Too cold!

Going to see Aunt Eileen, Uncle Sandy, Tom & Clayton, William & Nora and our troop. Man that is a lot of related people. We got to take a ferry!
